CHALE WOTE Street Art Festival

A melting pot of traditional and contemporary, local and international talents make for an interesting mix of art in Accra. Since ancient times, story telling has been a popular form of art in different parts of Ghana. Discover how it has evolved over time.

Robert Charlotte

The Martinican photographer Robert Charlotte is the creator of very pictorial portraits, in which are concentrated the collective history of a place and the trajectories of beings. In residence for one month in Accra with Studio Nuku, he offers to the public the restitution of the work done during his stay. A deeply original look at men and the city that will question all art lovers. With the support of Alliance Française d’Accra – Ghana and Institut Français - Ghana within the framework of the cultural season « dialogues artistiques transatlantiques : Caraïbes – Afrique de l’Ouest ».

Everliving Ghana

French photographer Denis Dailleux will showcase his work on Ghana at the ArchiAfrika Gallery in Jamestown. The photographer has known Ghana for several years and has a sentimental attachment to the Jamestown

community that are reflected in his arts.

Annual Chale Wote Street Art Festival

A collective effort of many young people- ranging from artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers to designers, students and activists... It draws an average of over two thousand art lovers to the streets of James Town each year. 200 local and international artists. 7 days. Too much free fun.
